welcome back to the show
today’s question comes from
Abigail Mangione:
––hey, William, does a good poem,..
a real good poem, deserve a standing ovation?
I mean, I’ve seen a standing ovation
for a guy who caught a garden snake,
killed it by snapping its neck by its tail
like it was a whip, then tossing it into the woods.
––I remember that day, Abigail.
wasn’t it at Cooke’s Pond, and the guy,..
wasn’t it Angelo Scarpi from Hillside Manor?
he was a real tough guy, that’s for sure.
but maybe a really good poem should be
rewarded with a standing ovation.
will you give me one for my latest poem, Abigail?
my apartment is small, but recently painted in eggshell,
but the brush of the moon over the bed is a cool blue.
are you busy tonight, Abigail? It's okay. my parents are dead.
